Southborough inspectors plan cease-and-desist for unlicensed bodyworks business at 7 Pike Road

Chris, a board inspector, reported on May 5 that inspectors performed a site visit to a massage/bodyworks business at 7 Pike Road after the board's new bodyworks regulations were mailed by certified letter. The inspector said staff informed the operator on site about licensing requirements and provided the regulation and application materials.

Shortly after the visit, someone representing the operator called to say they intended to comply, but no application had been filed more than a month later. "It's been over a month now and they haven't submitted their application," Chris said, and staff recommended drafting a cease-and-desist and working with Town counsel to enforce licensing requirements.

Board members agreed the next step was for staff to engage with counsel to prepare enforcement paperwork. The board discussed whether to make a formal motion; members agreed that staff should proceed and that a motion was not necessary.
