The Finney County Board of County Commissioners approved multiple routine land‑use items and appointments during the meeting.
Planning staff presented a rezoning request to change roughly 5.07 acres at 4635 West 7-Mile Road from Agricultural to RR (rural residential) so the house can be separated from agricultural land. Staff noted the parcel sits in Flood Zone A and must meet floodplain compliance; the planning commission had recommended approval and the board adopted resolution 14-2026.
Staff also presented parcel plats for Seven Mile Estates (approximately 5.07 acres) and a southeast Finney County parcel (approximately 5.5 acres) to separate homes from agricultural land; both were recommended by the planning commission and approved by the board. Staff emphasized that if owners propose additions or remodels in the future, rezoning to an appropriate residential district may be required before permits are issued.
On appointments, the board followed the library board’s recommendation and appointed Cody Kundiff to the Finney County Public Library Board to fill a vacancy for the remainder of a four-year term. The board also approved the appointment of Lee Roth as deputy county appraiser effective May 4, 2026; staff said the promotion includes a salary adjustment that is expected to remain within the appraiser office’s adopted 2026 budget.
All actions were approved by motion; staff indicated there was no direct fiscal impact for the plats or library appointment and limited budgetary effect for the deputy appraiser promotion within existing appropriations.
