Council approves consent calendar; adopts proclamations for Bike to Work and Wildfire Safety month

After the budget study session, the council moved and approved the consent calendar items listed as 13.1–13.5. Councilmember Álvarez moved the staff recommendation, and Councilmember Rogers seconded; the municipal clerk recorded six affirmative votes and the items carried.

Councilmembers also read proclamations recognizing May as Bike to Work Month and as a month for wildfire‑preparedness outreach. Officials highlighted community events — including an upcoming Bike to Work station and an educational campaign on defensible space and home hardening — and encouraged residents to participate.

Members of the public used the time for brief comments, thanking staff and raising concerns about cuts to shelter and recreation programs in the proposed budget. The council recessed and scheduled a continuation of the study session the following day to finalize department reviews.
