The Town of Southborough Conservation Commission handled several consent and routine items at its April 30 meeting.
The commission unanimously approved the minutes of April 2, 2026 by roll call.
On a public hearing, the commission reviewed a Request for Determination of Applicability for a 15‑by‑11 shed at 22 Turnpike Road on property associated with the driving range. Staff described the shed as sited within a 20‑foot buffer but in an existing maintained area with minimal excavation expected. The commission voted to issue a negative determination of applicability with standard conditions; staff said they will email the permit and instructions to the owner.
Separately, Michael Schmidt of GD Consulting presented on behalf of an applicant seeking a Certificate of Compliance for work at 170 Woodland Road (pool, patio, pavilion, fence, retaining wall). He described remedial actions taken after peer review (installation of a dry well to remove an exposed PVC drain and restoration plantings for trees removed). The commission found that a final stamped as‑built showing the dry well is not yet available and therefore continued the Certificate of Compliance until the required plan is provided.
The meeting concluded with routine updates and an adjournment vote.
