The commenter, who did not give a name, told the council she had signed agreement paperwork for housing but was later informed the offer had been rescinded and that she was returned "on the list for others to pick me up." She said the incident has left her without answers after five months and described the situation as discriminatory: "This is discrimination. A housing offer was made and then taken after I signed. No one told me why." The speaker identified herself as a domestic violence survivor and said the lack of recourse felt like being "told to follow the rules, then watching the rules change the moment you do."

The remarks were made during the public comment portion of the meeting; council members did not offer an immediate response on the record. The session also included other public commenters. Cerise Taylor delivered a faith-based prayer, and Jevon A. Brown urged more adult volunteers in schools and on buses to help deter youth violence, asking parents to contact Council President Lavelle to volunteer.

The committee moved on to its agenda after public comment. The council did not record a formal response or any immediate directive to staff in the meeting minutes to investigate the housing allegation.
