At its meeting, the Dubois County Council approved several administrative appropriations and fund authorizations.
Tammy Hamrick, the county emergency manager, asked the council to create an emergency‑management endowment through the Community Foundation (Resolution 2026‑08). Hamrick said the initial installment would be $4,000 with an annual payment of $700; the council voted to establish the fund and approved the resolution.
Council members also approved $10,000 from firearms training funds for deputy bulletproof vests, guns and tasers, and authorized sheriff donation fund spending of $388 for training/education and $1,800 in capital outlay for handheld monitors to test live lines. The council approved a $20,000 additional appropriation from the general fund to cover rising veteran burial assistance after noting $10,000 had been spent in the first quarter.
The council reviewed first‑quarter commissary reports for the jail and community corrections and asked staff to be prepared for an audit by the state board of accounts in June; no formal action beyond review was taken on those reports.
