Broadwater County commissioners approved several administrative and permitting items at their Dec. 13 meeting.
Project briefings: County Administrative Officer Bill Drai introduced weekly public project briefings to be held at 2 p.m. on Mondays to inform the public and media about county projects (solid waste, budget items, TIF/TED projects and related fiscal notes). The commission voted to authorize the briefings; meetings will be listed with other county meetings and are not commission meetings.
Paper of record: Commissioners approved a legal advertising contract naming MT43 News as Broadwater County's newspaper of record; legal notices will be published in MT43 News going forward rather than the Helena Independent Record.
Floodplain permit: After staff described the Toston (Tuss/Tosson) Irrigation District's project to replace an aging intake and headwall on Crow Creek and said relevant permits and agency reviews (U.S. Army Corps, Fish, Wildlife & Parks, DEQ) were completed, the commission approved the Great West Engineering floodplain development permit for the pump site. County staff said a landowner's comments about cattle safety and noxious weeds were received and addressed.
Minutes and claims: The commission approved minutes from Nov. 29 and a series of claims and payroll items as presented.
Each motion passed by voice vote during the meeting.
