Commissioners back transit and opioid grant applications and approve temporary environmental inspector contract

The Warrick County Commissioners on April 27 approved Resolution 2026‑3 authorizing a CY2027 application under sections 5311–5339 of the Federal Transit Act for Ride Solutions under Four Rivers Services. The resolution, which the board described as supportive only, does not obligate county funds.

The board unanimously approved a separate opioid grant application for Warrick County Drug Court totaling $18,822.99. County staff said the award would cover transportation, lodging, flights, mileage and per diem for staff to attend the All Rise Conference in Nashville July 20–23, 2026 to receive treatment‑court training.

April Hicks, administrator of the Warrick County Health Department, asked the commissioners to approve a temporary service agreement with Mark Krantz LLC to provide environmental inspection services for septic systems while the county is without an on‑staff inspector. The proposed contract would pay $50 per hour, not to exceed $40,000 through the end of the year. Hicks said the county will move this into a dedicated budget line during the June budget process; commissioners approved the contract by voice vote.

All three measures were approved 3–0. Commissioners said the transit application, drug court training and interim inspection services support county service delivery and compliance with state program requirements.
