The Assembly adopted two privileged resolutions before adjourning. Legislative Resolution 56, offered by Assemblymember Otis, honored first responders and frontline workers "for their heroism during the unprecedented time of crisis created by the COVID virus disease 2019," and was adopted by voice vote.
Assemblymember McDonald presented a second resolution expressing condolences to New Yorkers and others who have died during the pandemic. In remarks summarizing the toll, McDonald noted worldwide and national case and death counts and said "today here in New York State 23,722 individuals have lost their lives," offering the Assembly's sympathies. Both resolutions were adopted and the House rose in memory of those lost to the disease before adjourning.
The Assembly announced it will reconvene at the call of the speaker and adjourned until Friday, May 29.
