Lakeville liquor stores raise nearly $30,000 for local food programs in March

City staff reported that Lakeville liquor‑store customers donated $29,835.60 during March as part of a fundraising campaign, with proceeds earmarked for 360 Communities and The Open Door Pantry.

Representatives from the benefiting groups thanked the city and donors and described program impacts: the Open Door representative said the two organizations together support about 23,000 people across Dakota County and roughly 5,000 in Lakeville, operate mobile food access points in five Lakeville neighborhoods, and partner with the school district for summer meal delivery (noting more than 12,000 meals last summer).

Councilmembers thanked city liquor‑store staff and patrons for the donations and noted a recent large in‑kind donation timed to support pantry distributions.

The council recognized the contribution during the meeting and invited nonprofit representatives to remain for a photo.
