The Rockwood Board of Education approved the hire of Brandy Ganonbacher as the district's director of curriculum and professional learning, effective July 1.
Superintendent (addressing the board) said the board had approved the hire earlier in the evening and summarized Ganonbacher's background: she currently serves as director of curriculum, instruction and assessment in the Orchard Farm School District since 2024; she previously spent seven years as an assistant principal and taught for nine years in Winfield and Winsville-area districts. The superintendent also noted Ganonbacher's degrees, including a bachelor of science in elementary education from the University of Missouri at Columbia and advanced degrees (master of science, education specialist, doctorate) from Missouri Baptist University.
Board members congratulated Ganonbacher and the district applauded following the announcement. The motion to approve the hire was presented by the superintendent and recorded as approved.
The hire replaces Dr. Carrie Skeers, who has moved to the assistant superintendent role in teaching and learning. The district said Ganonbacher's start date will be July 1.
