Commissioners approve consent agenda including $100,000 Urban League workforce contract and $850,000 HOME-ARP housing award

The Hamilton County Board of Commissioners approved its consent agenda on April 23, which included a $100,000 agreement with the Urban League of Southwestern Ohio to support the Building Futures workforce program and a HOME-ARP project agreement with Pleasant House Apartments LLC for $850,000.

Administration said the Urban League contract is intended to support workforce development through the Building Futures program. Staff described the HOME-ARP award to Pleasant House as financing 25 new modern accessible units in Over-the-Rhine, developed in partnership with Tender Mercy's and Over-the-Rhine Community Housing to serve people with mental health challenges or who otherwise are at risk of homelessness. Angela Rock, staff from Planning and Development, confirmed these project details during the meeting.

Other items in the consent package included the Auditor's statement of financial transactions for March 2026 ($247,532,712.80), several vehicle purchases for the Sheriff's office (totaling $168,?032 across items described), a JFS contract for $727,982 and various procurement releases. The Board voted to approve items 2 through 15 on the consent calendar by voice vote.

Commissioners and staff described the Urban League partnership as part of ongoing workforce efforts and said the HOME-ARP investment complements other county housing and supportive services work.
