Beaufort County bulletin highlights National Library Week, RBC Heritage coverage and Frog Fest

Beaufort County's BCTV news bulletin spotlighted several community events, including National Library Week, coverage of the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament on Hilton Head Island, and Frog Fest at the Beaufort County Executive Airport.

The program noted that this year's National Library Week theme is "finding your joy," and cited Teresa Firbish's framing that libraries provide access to knowledge, digital resources, educational programs and welcoming community spaces. A field segment from the RBC Heritage featured BCTV reporter Chloe G with Jillian Bio of the Culinary Institute of the South. Introduced as volunteering through ACE Academy for Career Excellence, Bio said, “Um I'm helping making the food. Um I'm making pizza, making sure everything stays stocked up. I'm also interacting with the customers and just make sure everything is staying done.” She told the reporter she began volunteering while in high school and returned this year because she enjoyed the experience.

Another field report featured BCTV's Matt Golden with County Council Vice Chair Anna Maria Tavernise at Frog Fest, which the bulletin described as kicking off with a 5K and 10K runway race and then opening to the broader community with bands, food trucks and other activities. Tavernise said the event draws a broad age range and supports military and veterans; the Civil Air Patrol performed the national anthem. The bulletin said proceeds go to a local cause but did not specify the recipient.
