Lynwood Unified board approves consent agenda items and closes bond hearing

At its April 23 meeting the Lynwood Unified School District Board moved through procedural and action items with unanimous or near‑unanimous voice votes.

Early in the meeting trustees approved the agenda by voice vote (recorded in the clerk's roll as a 4‑0 vote at the initial call). Later the public hearing on a waiver and the issuance of additional general obligation bonds was opened and closed after no public comments; the hearing was opened and closed by motions moved by Ms. Lopez and seconded by Dr. Castro. The board approved meeting minutes, human resources certificates, Measure K/Measure N fund items, and moved several items en bloc on the consent calendar; these motions passed without recorded opposition.

The board reported out of closed session that, with a 5‑0 vote, it approved a stipulated award and resolution of pending WCAB proceedings listed on the closed session agenda. The meeting concluded with a 5‑0 vote to adjourn at 7:26 p.m. Board members present during votes included Mr. Morales, Mrs. Lopez, Dr. Castro, Mr. De Real Cayedos and Dr. Hardy (attendance varied earlier in the evening).
