Bonner County commissioners moved unanimously to accept several airport-related items on May 12, including state grant portions, a lease assignment and a hangar shelter lease.
Airports Director Shook presented an Idaho Transportation Department acceptance letter for reimbursement tied to a master-plan update at Priest River Airport. The memo listed the state obligation as $2,842.11 (2.5% of allowable costs); Shook clarified the grant structure, noting how the state and FAA portions interact with county matching. "This is actually the state portion of the AIP grant that covers 95%, the state covers 2 and a half percent, and we cover 2 and a half percent," Shook said while explaining the matching arrangement.
The board also approved a similar state portion of an FAA AIP obstruction-removal grant for Sandpoint Airport with a state obligation of $11,388.13 (2.5% of allowable costs), accepted a lease assignment for Lot 11 at Sandpoint Airport under the terms presented, and approved a one-year lease for Hangar Shelter No. 2 at Priest River Airport at an annual rate of $3,360.
Each item was supported by auditing, risk and legal review as noted in the staff presentations, and each resolution or motion was adopted by roll call and administrative signature as appropriate.
