Kasson Council accepts retirement of assistant fire chief Chris Sheldon

Kasson City Council accepted the resignation/retirement of Assistant Fire Chief Chris Sheldon and reviewed an updated job description for the deputy/assistant fire chief role.

The council formally accepted Sheldons resignation with regret and thanked him for his years of service; his last reported day was May 4. Members then discussed an updated job description that has not been revised since 2010, asking staff to include EMS responsibilities and to align training requirements for the deputy with those for the fire chief so the deputy is prepared to step into the chief role if needed. Council asked staff to circulate a revised description for later action.

Next steps: staff will circulate proposed job-description edits and return the item to council for formal action once revisions are complete.
