The Board of Clermont County Commissioners read a proclamation May 11 declaring May 2026 as Mental Health Month in Clermont County and called attention to available crisis resources.
During the proclamation reading, the board highlighted that one in five American adults experience a mental health condition annually and emphasized the need to combat stigma and expand early intervention and access to quality care. The proclamation included guidance for residents to call the county crisis hotline (local number read during the proclamation) and the national 988 hotline.
Cindy Duarte (addressed as doctor Duarte) told the board she appreciated recognition of Mental Health Month and described county‑sponsored events, including outings with Clermont Parks, a mocktail sip‑and‑paint and a mural unveiling at New Richmond High School later in the month. Duarte said the national 988 number connects callers to the local crisis hotline and invited commissioners to public events; she said she would follow up with meeting details and calendar notices.
The board encouraged residents and local institutions to increase awareness and support access to services. No formal board action beyond the proclamation was recorded.
