St. Charles council approves consent agenda and names Senior Services Commission members

The St. Charles City Council approved the consent agenda and confirmed a slate of appointments to the Senior Services Commission.

The council voted to appoint the following individuals to the Senior Services Commission: Drew Watson as chair (term expires April 30, 2029); Marilyn Swanson (term expires April 30, 2029); Mike Zimmer (term expires April 30, 2029); Jennifer Fulkerson (term expires April 30, 2028); Mary Meyer (term expires April 30, 2028); Carol Schreiber (term expires April 30, 2028); Donna Robertson (term expires April 30, 2027); Janet English (term expires April 30, 2027); and Rose Ruggle Broggie (term expires April 30, 2027).

A motion to approve the appointments was moved and seconded and carried on roll call. The council also approved routine consent items by roll call prior to the appointments.

Why it matters: These appointments populate an advisory body that provides input on services and programming for older residents; terms and a chair were set to ensure continuity through 2027–2029.

What’s next: The newly constituted Senior Services Commission will begin its work under the terms listed above; council members congratulated the appointees and encouraged them to engage with staff on priorities.
