Commissioners table request to designate Thrive West Central for Section 5311 grant

A representative from Thrive West Central told the Vigo County commissioners that the organization seeks a resolution designating it as an approved rural public transportation provider so it can file a Section 5311 rural transit grant application on behalf of Vigo County.

The speaker, identifying themselves as the director of transportation for Thrive West Central, said the designation is not exclusive, that Thrive is an eligible 5311 recipient and that the commissioners would be expected to provide a portion of the required local match (the staff presentation noted there is no lower limit specified for that local share in the request).
