Mayor Tom Armstrong used the town's bi-weekly podcast to announce a series of upcoming community events and public-safety resources for Chino Valley.
Armstrong urged residents to attend the second annual Territorial Stroll dog walk to benefit the Chino Valley K9 Police Department, saying it will begin at Memory Park at 9:00 a.m. Saturday and that registration information is on the town website. “Please come down and support the Chino Valley K9 Police Department program,” Armstrong said.
The mayor also urged residents to apply for the town's Citizens Academy, which he said begins May 6. “We usually take about 20 people. We have about half of those now,” Armstrong said, encouraging people who want to learn about town operations to sign up.
Armstrong announced free dump days at Moho Manor on May 15 and 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., noting the annual event gives residents an opportunity to dispose of household clutter quickly and without charge.
On infrastructure, Armstrong told listeners that questions about upcoming street and road improvement projects have arisen and directed residents to the town website for details on what projects have started or will begin soon. He also relayed information about a seasonal fire-mitigation program from APS, the utility company, advising listeners to visit aps.com or call the company's 800 number for guidance on protecting homes and property.
The podcast closed with Armstrong thanking listeners and viewers. No formal votes or motions were recorded during the broadcast.
