White Oak council approves blight committee, demolition contract and other measures in single meeting

White Oak Borough Council on April 20 approved a set of administrative and public‑safety measures, including creating a blight committee, awarding a demolition contract to address blighted structures, participating in county grant programs and adopting the county hazard mitigation plan.

The council approved Resolution 2026‑14 to form a blight committee to operate under the planning and zoning committee; Solicitor Ashley Pachchowski presented the resolution and council adopted it on a motion. The council also approved Resolution 2026‑15 to include White Oak in the county Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership Program notice for participation in 2027–2029 and Resolution 2026‑16 adopting the county 2026 hazard mitigation plan as the borough’s official plan.

On project procurement, Health/Environment reported awarding the White Oak Safe Neighborhood Demolition Project (CD50‑3113) to Minfield Demolition Services LLC for a base bid and Alternate No. 1 totaling $38,000; council authorized the borough manager and the Still Rivers COG executive director to execute contract documents. Engineering staff recommended the award during their report.

Finance actions included approval of the March check register (check ranges and totals read aloud) and authorization of interfund transfers for March totaling approximately $188,190 (detailed line items were read into the record). Council also accepted the tax collector’s report and the monthly finance report presented by Councilman Chuck Davis.

Parks and Recreation reported and council adopted the 2026 pool season rates (general admission $15; resident season pass $80; nonresident season pass $120; resident senior $40; nonresident senior $80). The council approved these motions by voice vote.
