Board adopts revised pre‑K entrance policy setting Dec. 1 cutoff

At the April 16 meeting the Mineola Union Free School District Board of Education passed Resolution 88 to waive the second formal reading and adopt a revised Board Policy 7120, establishing December 1 as the eligibility date for pre‑K entrance (the date a student turns four).

The change was presented as a clarifying amendment to eligibility dates for pre‑K students. The motion was made, seconded and carried by voice vote. No board member requested additional amendments during the brief discussion.

The policy change will be posted per district practice and implemented for the next enrollment cycle. Administrators did not indicate any additional costs or programmatic changes tied directly to the eligibility date adjustment.
