The Maple School District Board of Education completed its annual organization work during a May 11 meeting, re-electing its president and assigning members to standing committees.
At the start of the meeting the board confirmed officers for the coming year. After nominations, the board re-elected Adam as president, selected Mr. Glonick as vice president, named Mr. Probst clerk and appointed Mr. Cowley treasurer. The chair opened nominations and members approved each selection by voice vote.
The board then assigned members to standing committees, keeping the finance and curriculum assignments largely intact and adding members to the policy and buildings-and-grounds/transportation committees to account for upcoming referendum projects. The chair noted that the buildings-and-grounds committee will have “additional work over the next two years” tied to large projects the district expects to start after securing referendum funding.
The reorganizational actions are procedural and set the governance structure that will oversee the district’s budget and capital work in the months ahead. The board’s committee composition will determine who reviews bids and policy language before items come to the full board.
The meeting moved from organizational items into routine consent business and program updates after the elections.
