Mills County Engineer Jacob Burrow told the board that an updated county-line maintenance agreement with Fremont County clarifies road identification by name and shifts responsibility for one mile of Midland Avenue to Fremont County.
"We were able to talk to Fremont County and agree they're gonna take over one mile of Midland Avenue," Burrow said. He added the agreement spells out that when a large bridge or culvert must be replaced the maintaining county will do the work and the other county will pay half the cost.
Supervisor (speaker 1) made the motion to approve the county line maintenance agreement with Fremont County; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Burrow said the drafting clarifies names used instead of older surveyor-based descriptions to make the agreements easier to read and administer. The agreement will go to Fremont County's board at its meeting the following day for final acceptance.
