The Prescott School District board accepted two community contributions during its April 14 meeting: an anonymous $10,000 gift the donors asked be used to create four $1,000 "Archie Awards" for teachers across district buildings and a separate $6,000 Fund 21 allocation to subsidize student experiences for families who cannot otherwise afford trips or activity fees. Administration explained applicants have until May 15 to apply for the $1,000 awards; building principals will review the anonymous donors asked not to participate in selection.
Separately, the board accepted an in-kind lumber donation valued at $6,740 from Harley H. Hotchkus of Premium Plots LLC to support Prescott High School's R5 technology and manufacturing program. Trustees and staff thanked donors and community groups (including the Prescott Lions Club and Prescott Fast Pitch Association for other recent contributions) for supporting student programming.
