The Old Kings Highway Committee on Monday asked the applicant for 49 Freeman Road to return with corrected drawings, photographs and material samples after inconsistencies appeared between the plans and what the applicant described.
Maria Roca (owner, as introduced on the agenda) and her representative described a revised proposal that eliminated two dormers on the principal house while retaining a small dog‑house pediment over the front door and replacing trim and siding with white Azek/ASAC trim and white vinyl siding. The representative said two dormers were removed because of builder cost.
Committee members said the changes were significant and that the packet did not match what was being presented at the table. The chair said, “when a major change at the last minute comes before us, the public is not privy to those changes,” and asked for revised drawings so neighbors and the committee could see exact changes.
Members pressed for consistent window grille details, gutter color, and photos of the existing front elevation. They also asked the applicant to consider HardiePlank or other cement‑board siding rather than vinyl on all elevations.
Given those outstanding documentation and material issues — and because the public mailing had already been issued based on the prior submission — the committee voted to table the application to the next meeting and instructed the applicant to return with accurate drawings, photos of the existing house and physical material samples.
Next steps: applicant will submit revised drawings, photos and samples; committee will re‑review the application at a future meeting.
