Auditors report clean Measure BB bond audit for Hacienda la Puente Unified

Kyle Montgomery, a partner at Christy White certified public accountants, told the Hacienda la Puente Unified School District board on April 16 that the Measure BB annual independent audit for the year ended June 30, 2025 received two clean (unmodified) opinions — one on the bond building fund financial statements and one on the performance audit verifying bond proceeds were spent on voter‑approved projects. "There are no findings or recommendations," Montgomery said.

Trustees asked about the report cover’s "significant audit matters" heading; Montgomery explained those are the categories auditors examine (qualitative accounting practices, misstatements, disagreements with management) and confirmed there were no significant matters to report this year. The presentation emphasized that auditors sampled expenditures to confirm they tied back to projects approved by voters under Measure BB.

Board members moved to ratify the bond audit report as part of the meeting’s consent and bond project items. Superintendent Roach and district staff noted the item was procedural and welcomed questions; none led to findings or corrective actions. The board’s acceptance means the district’s Measure BB financial stewardship for the 2024–25 fiscal year was documented as materially correct and compliant with the bond authorization’s accountability provisions.

The board will continue routine oversight of Measure BB spending and receives bond financial updates as part of its regular bond project reporting.
