Superintendent Dr. Weaver gave the board an update on his first 100 days in office, detailing outreach activity, planned observations of district systems and upcoming opportunities for public input.
"The first 30 days is really about me being out in the schools, out in the community, meeting people, hearing and listening to input," Dr. Weaver said. He reported visiting 24 schools to date, meeting with administrators, teachers and small groups of students, and holding two public "listen and learn" sessions with attendance of 98 and 62 people.
Dr. Weaver said the next phase of his plan will focus on observing district systems and the final phase will be developing a plan based on the first 60 days of input. He encouraged community participation in another listen-and-learn session scheduled for tomorrow at Eisenhower Middle School at 5:30 p.m., and reminded the public that an online survey is available on the district website.
He also announced that the district review for May has been published and that graduation ceremonies will be held at the Great Plains Coliseum with specific dates and times for Lawton High School, Eisenhower and MacArthur High School. All graduations will be live streamed; doors close 10 minutes before each ceremony.
The board took no formal action on the 100‑day update; the superintendent’s outreach and the survey will inform later recommendations and planning.
