Warrick County raises stormwater service charge to $7.50 per ERU

The Warrick County Board of Commissioners voted May 11 to amend the county code to set the stormwater service charge at $7.50 per equivalent residential unit (ERU) per month, increasing the previous $5 rate.

Clerk staff explained the drainage board had previously approved the rate increase earlier in the year and the ordinance before the commissioners formally amends section 5504 of the code. The change must be published in time for tax‑roll processing, staff said, so commissioners moved to adopt the ordinance at this meeting rather than waiting.

The motion to adopt the ordinance carried on roll call. Commissioners said the measure implements a previously agreed policy decision by the drainage board to fund stormwater needs and will appear on future tax statements once the publication and administrative steps are complete.
