Ceremony honors Sioux Falls School District staff and retirees

Nan Kelly, president of the school board for Sioux Falls School District 49-5, opened the evening by introducing fellow board member Gail Swinsson, thanking human resources staff and framing the event around the theme “the art of dedication,” noting long-term service by staff across jobs that support students.

Superintendent Dr. Jamie Null followed with a superintendent's address recognizing organizers and honorees, reflecting on teaching and support roles and saying the district educates every student and that it is "human beings" who make the difference.

Allison Struck of the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation thanked honorees and retirees for their service and announced that Dakota Vascular sponsored two $500 cash prizes to be awarded to a 25-year honoree and a retiree. The program proceeded with the district calling the names of 25-year honorees and retirees for recognition and photographs. The ceremony concluded with an invitation to remain for photos and dinner.
