The Canal Winchester Board of Education approved several personnel and routine business items on April 13, including an amended administrative contract, public‑safety and vendor agreements, and policy action.
Board members voted to amend the contract for William Whitlatch (named in the motion) to serve as director of transportation effective Jan. 20, 2026 through July 31, 2029; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call.
The board also approved a two‑year school‑resource‑officer agreement with Madison Township beginning July 1, 2026. The district currently staffs other SRO positions through the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department and uses Madison Township for the middle school post.
Administrative business included renewal of a master services agreement with Meta Solutions for technical support during the 2026‑27 school year and reenrollment in the Ohio SchoolComp 2027 workers‑comp group rating program, described by administration as routine renewals to maintain continuity in IT and workers’ compensation administration.
The board approved a resolution continuing membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association for 2026‑27 and completed the second (final) reading of an updated attendance board policy that had its first reading in March.
The consent agenda — covering March minutes, donations, certified and classified personnel actions, summer school staffing and supplemental positions — was approved by a roll‑call vote earlier in the meeting.
