Residents urged to attend June hearing on proposed AI data center in Bonner

A member of the public urged fellow council members to attend the Missoula County commissioners’ public comment session set for June 3 regarding a proposed AI data center in Bonner.

"They're just trying to build a dangerous center in Bonner and most of the people in Bonner last night spoke in opposition to it," the commenter said, and noted the county will hold a public-comment session at 6 p.m. on June 3 in the commissioners’ meeting room. The commenter encouraged council members and residents to participate and to share concerns during that session.

Council members noted the topic is increasingly common in Montana and that similar proposals are emerging in other communities; one member said the county-level session is the appropriate place for community comment and urged attendance.

The council did not vote or take further formal action on the item during the meeting; the speaker’s remarks were a public comment urging civic participation at the June 3 hearing.
