At its April 14 meeting the Milligville City Council approved several administrative items and appointments.
The council adopted Resolution R‑2604‑09 to authorize a sales/lease agreement with Superior Document Solutions for copier provision and maintenance across multiple city departments, including the executive office, finance and water and sewer divisions. A motion and roll call approved the resolution.
The council also approved an alcohol retail application for Bronson and Triplett Enterprise LLC doing business as BNT’s Food Fresh at 731 South Wayne Street for beer and wine packaged to go; the clerk clarified the license was for packaged beer and wine, not on‑premises liquor.
Mayor Mary Parm Copelan nominated two members to the newly formed Public Arts Committee. After motions and seconds the council confirmed Abraham Adabi (variously pronounced on the record) and Mark Weaver by roll call vote.
Finally, the clerk read for first reading Ordinance 0‑2604‑13 to annex approximately 1.56 acres at 2747 North Columbia Street and zone it Heavy Commercial for a manufactured‑home dealership; the council referred the item to the Planning & Zoning Commission for review.
What’s next
The copier lease takes effect per the contract terms recorded in the resolution. The alcohol license was approved subject to usual licensing procedures; the two appointees begin service as the Public Arts Committee establishes bylaws and meeting schedules. The annexation will return to council after Planning & Zoning’s review.
