Commission amends fieldhouse‑plaza contract to integrate veterans memorial and site systems

Kevin (staff) told the commission the city will fold the veterans memorial, located across the way, into the Fieldhouse Plaza development work to create a more uniform site design and to connect irrigation and lighting systems.

Kevin said the change is an amendment to professional services to fully integrate the memorial into the Fieldhouse Plaza package; he noted that Ron Lawrenburgger will continue to control memorial plaques and related content while the city helps with site development work.

The amendment was presented as a modest contract change (amendment two, fee amount referenced in the meeting packet) and commissioners moved and approved the amendment without recorded opposition.

Next steps: staff will proceed with integrated drawings and coordinate with the memorial stewards on plaque content and installation timing.
