State budget includes $1 million for Erlanger’s EONS project, mayor says $500,000 will arrive over two years

Mayor Fetty announced April 7 that Erlanger has been included in the state budget with a $1 million allocation for the EONS project, saying roughly $500,000 of that funding will be delivered over the next two years.

The mayor credited city staff, including Mark Collier, and several state legislators for helping secure the appropriation. "This is a huge win for our city, a huge win for this project," the mayor said, describing EONS as a "legacy project" for the community.

City staff said the state allocation will be routed to the city and noted the funding provides both a financial and political endorsement of the project as it advances through local construction phases. In the council meeting staff updated members on construction elements tied to EONS work, including an Amber Run Dog Park scheduled to open in June and associated park and bike‑park amenities.

The mayor said staff and local partners will continue to coordinate implementation details and thanked the legislators and staff who advocated for the appropriation. No vote or formal council action on the EONS funding was recorded at the meeting; the mayor framed the announcement as a budgetary update and acknowledgment of legislative support.

Looking ahead, staff will bring implementation details and timelines back to council as state funds are received and project milestones are set.
