The Board of Elbert County Commissioners approved three action items on April 8: a new master lease with Webster Public Finance Corporation for vehicle and equipment leases, an amended resolution certifying costs of prosecuting crimes alleged to have been committed by persons in Colorado Department of Corrections custody, and an updated county social media policy.
Tiffany Hermes, the county finance director, said the new master lease adds Webster as an option for competitive rates and better customer service; staff noted the county currently has master leases with U.S. Bank and Signature/Flagstar and that the leases discussed would include five-year financing for Road and Bridge motor graders and replacement Sheriff's Office Tahoes at interest rates near 5.16 percent. The board approved the master lease by unanimous voice vote.
Hermes also presented an amended invoice and resolution correcting non-eligible costs from a prior submission; the adjustment reduced eligible reimbursement by $263. The board approved the corrected resolution by unanimous voice vote.
Wendy Holmes, communications director, presented an updated county social media policy intended to improve timely information to residents, clarify who is authorized to post on official accounts and reduce inconsistent messaging during emergencies; Human Resources confirmed it will be incorporated into the employee handbook after board adoption. The board voted to adopt the policy unanimously.
