The Loudon County Commission approved several budgetary and personnel actions at its May 11 meeting. Staff presented TCRs and proposed employee rate changes effective July 1, 2026; the commission moved and seconded to approve the rates and recorded the motion as carried. (Presenter identified as Aaron.)
Commissioners also approved budget amendments discussed previously at the budget committee and workshop. Because some items involved moving money between funds, these motions were subject to roll call votes; staff and commissioners recorded votes and the motions were carried.
Steve Harrelson was given time on the agenda to request moving a bookkeeper’s salary and benefits from the circuit court budget to the general sessions court budget. Harrelson explained the bookkeeper currently records both courts’ books and asked that compensation be paid out of the general sessions court budget going forward. Commissioner Shaver moved to approve the request and Commissioner Randolph seconded. A roll call vote was taken and the transfer motion carried.
The commission also approved routine administrative items — including bonds and notary approvals — and set a tentative budget adoption date (the commission polled availability and agreed on June 29 for formal budget adoption). Staff was instructed to publish workshop agenda notices and follow up on implementation steps.
The actions taken were administrative and largely procedural; commissioners noted when money was involved and moved forward with roll call votes where required.
