Mason County coroner seeks renewed interlocal agreement with Kitsap for medical examiner services

Jamie, who identified herself to the board as Mason County Coroner, asked the commission to renew an interlocal agreement with Kitsap County to allow use of Kitsap’s medical examiner facility. She said Mason County previously had such an agreement with Kitsap, that nothing in substance is changing from the prior arrangement, and that staff made minor language edits which she would provide to the board in the next day or two.

Jamie noted Mason County will retain its interlocal agreement with Lewis County but wants to “keep our options open” by having Kitsap as an additional facility. She expressed support for renewing the arrangement given the facility’s location and the county medical doctor’s practice patterns.

Commissioners indicated support and no substantive objections were raised during the briefing.
