At its April 6 meeting, the Troy Board of Park Commissioners approved two procurement actions: awarding a signage contract for Miami Shores Golf Course and awarding a nonalcoholic beverage agreement covering Hobart Arena, Troy Aquatic Park and Miami Shores Golf Course.
For signage, Mr. Greaser said the bid process produced a single responsive bidder. The board voted to award the contract to Masterpiece Signs and Graphics, doing business as Golf Graphics, to provide T signage along the course and additional wayfinding and informational signs.
On beverages, staff presented a request for a six-year contract with a two-year optional extension. Proposals from Pepsi and Coke were reviewed. Staff recommended PepsiCo Beverages, saying the projected first-year expense would be approximately $9,500 higher if the city chose Coke and that Pepsi’s rebates and a 5% annual price-cap made Pepsi the lower-risk financial option. Staff also said Coke’s proposal would convert some venue sales to bottled-only product, a change that staff judged would be problematic at the aquatic park and the golf course.
Commissioners moved and seconded motions to award both contracts; the motions were approved during the meeting. Staff said the nonalcoholic beverage agreement will also be presented to the recreation board at its upcoming meeting.
The transcript does not record roll-call vote tallies for these motions; the board recorded the motions as carried.
