Committee approves Juliet LLC permit to keep patio and add canopy at 1313 West 6th

The Municipal Services and Properties Committee approved Ordinance 365-2026 to allow Juliet LLC to encroach into the West 6th Street right‑of‑way at 1313 West 6th to install a decorative wrought‑iron fence, four 4x4 steel post footers and a steel canopy within the site’s existing patio footprint.

A director (Parks & Recreation) told the committee the proposed work does not extend beyond the current footprint and “will not impede the sidewalk.” Staff said the business will bear all construction costs and that patios within the right‑of‑way are inspected annually as part of the patio renewal permitting process.

Council members asked staff to provide drawings and confirm the precise building location; staff agreed to send drawings and said the canopy will be covered and built in the same footprint. The ordinance was approved and signed during the meeting.
