Saratoga County panel approves one-year renewal for clinic security contract

The Saratoga County Health and Human Services Committee on April 7 approved a one-year renewal with Aeron Security, doing business as Arrow Security, for uniformed security at the county Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services clinic.

Megan Johnson, Saratoga County commissioner of mental health and addiction services, told the committee the contractor provides 54.75 hours of coverage each week to match clinic hours plus 15 minutes before and after, and that the county’s prevailing wage increases the billing rate. Johnson said the department’s estimate presented at the meeting reflects an hourly rate moving from about $32.16 to an estimated $33.45 and that the net annual cost of $93,396 is already budgeted for 2026. "They provide 54.75 hours of service to us per week," Johnson said.

The resolution authorizes a one-year renewal of the existing contract; committee members moved and approved the measure by voice vote. The memorandum presented to the committee described the annual renewal practice tied to Saratoga County’s prevailing wage adjustments and noted administrative markups in the contractor’s billing.

The committee did not provide a roll-call tally in the meeting transcript; the motion was carried by voice vote. The authorization does not change the department’s 2026 budget appropriation for security services.

The contract renewal was introduced as an administrative, budgeted renewal rather than a new procurement; the department said it had used the vendor since 2025 and is satisfied with the services. The committee did not request further operational changes or additional funding at the meeting.
