Board ratifies board-room AV upgrade and CivicPlus software support, apologizes for procedural error

The Halifax County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously (8–0) to approve a proposal from Executive Technologies for audio-visual upgrades in the board room and to expand CivicPlus support for agenda preparation, meeting minutes and FOIA request management. The board approved the action retroactive to March 17, 2026.

The item was presented after staff acknowledged an earlier administrative error in which a prior discussion had been voted without a formal motion and second. "As chairman I would like to apologize for letting it get by me," the chair said while asking the board to ratify the proposal. A formal motion to approve the Executive Technologies proposal and the CivicPlus software expansion was then moved and seconded; roll call recorded an 8–0 vote in favor.

The approval completes procurement steps for the board-room upgrades and for additional software support intended to improve remote access, agenda management, minutes production and FOIA handling. Staff will proceed with contracting and implementation steps described in the proposal.
