Lisa Kubani, speaking for the Downtown Development Authority, briefed the council on a slate of spring and summer events intended to drive local business and community activity.
Key items: Restaurant Week runs April 18–26 with 18 participating restaurants and a receipt-based prize and voting contest; a spring scavenger hunt in May will use riddles and QR-code entries; Wednesdays-in-Wayne food trucks return in June (11 a.m.–7 p.m.) with live music and DJs; a summer movie night and related family attractions will be staged near Hillcrest Bible Church; the city will host the US‑12 Cruise on July 11 and concerts in the park starting July 29 and weekly in August; National Night Out and a backpack giveaway are planned for August events.
Kubani encouraged residents to support local restaurants, scan posted QR codes to enter contests, and attend family-friendly programming throughout the season. Council thanked the DDA for event planning and outreach to local businesses.
