Trenton library accepts $10,000 Molina Michigan Healthcare grant for senior programming

The Trenton Public Library on April 6 told the council it received a $10,000 grant from Molina Michigan Healthcare and the Superiorland Library Cooperative to fund programming for seniors and caregivers focused on addressing social isolation and promoting health and wellness.

Library Director Miss Jensen described intended uses including increased outreach (home delivery), book clubs at senior living centers such as Trenton Towers, and in-library activities such as movie and game days for seniors and caregivers. Council members asked for examples of programming and expressed support; council accepted the grant unanimously.

Library staff said the funding would support outreach to seniors who cannot travel to the library and help launch pilot programs aimed at reducing isolation.
