Trenton approves $64,955 repairs for arena dehumidifiers; ice rentals unaffected, staff says

Trenton’s parks staff told the council on April 6 that dehumidifiers serving the city’s arenas (Typher/Tyer and Feldman units) had failed and required replacement of shaft bearings, couplers and a reactivation motor. Row Consulting, which has worked for the city for years, provided the diagnosis and a repair plan.

Parks staff said much of the work will require disassembly and reassembly of the units, additional minor repairs (grease lines, control repairs, connectors) and balancing of motors by an independent firm. The total cost presented to the council was $64,955; the work carries a two-year parts-and-labor warranty. Council approved the repair authorization unanimously and staff said ice rental schedules will not be impacted.
