Beaufort board ratifies personnel actions, approves construction amendment and reclassifies $1.6 million to bond funds

Returning from executive session, the Beaufort County Board of Education approved three formal items by unanimous vote.

First, the board approved the superintendent’s recommended personnel ratification report for March 2026, as presented by the secretary. The motion was seconded and recorded as approved by all members.

Second, the board approved Amendment No. 2 with Thompson Turner Construction for the Ladies Island Middle School replacement project and the total project scope for construction with a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) figure reported in the meeting transcript. The GMP number in the transcript was garbled and could not be reliably transcribed; the board recorded the amendment as approved. The motion passed unanimously.

Third, the board approved reclassification of secured-entry renovation funds from the FY2026 capital improvement projects to the 2019 bond referendum for a total of $1,600,000; that motion also passed unanimously.
