The Hinsdale Planning Commission approved a permanent window-sign permit for 33 East First Street (case A-3-2026) on April 6 after hearing an applicant presentation describing the business and the sign.
The applicant, Laura, identified herself as the owner of the Victor home at that address and asked to retain a temporary window sign as a permanent fixture. "I'm the owner of the Victor um home," she said, describing her work as a design-build firm that sells and installs architectural products.
Commissioners asked brief questions about the sign's appearance and visibility. Multiple commissioners said the sign was appropriate for the downtown setting: one commissioner said it "looks appropriate," another called it "very tasteful" and "fits in well with the downtown." Commissioner Krillenberger moved to approve the sign permit as submitted; Commissioner Curry seconded. Bethany conducted the roll-call: Commissioner Harlow voted Yes; Commissioners Curry, Krillenberger, Cernovich, Fiascone, Moore and Chairman Cashman voted Aye. The motion passed unanimously among voting commissioners.
The approval was limited to the sign-permit application as described; the applicant stated she would not add additional signage beyond the window sign. No legal citations or funding issues were raised at the meeting. The commission adjourned shortly after the vote.
