Councilmember Michael Heisel: Sewage-treatment-plant odor-control upgrades due later this year

Councilmember Michael Heisel said the city has worked with Public Works on "major odor control upgrades" at the sewage treatment plant and that the odor-control portion "should be done later this year," a step he said will bring "vast improvements to not only South Wichita, but the entire city."

Heisel also said he will work on a master parks plan to ensure quality parks are within walking distance of residents. The comments were delivered as part of the council's opening remarks; Heisel did not propose a motion or supply funding details during his remarks.
