House honors Representative Jeremy Fasin in an extended farewell

The House spent an extended portion of its April 6 session honoring Representative Jeremy Fasin as he departs after 16 years in the legislature.

Leader Lambert read House Resolution 1082 and introduced family and friends in the well. Colleagues from across the aisle offered tributes: Senator Romesh Aberry recalled Fasin’s advocacy and friendship; Chairman Gary Hicks, Leader Camper and others shared personal stories and praised his leadership and willingness to work across party lines. Remarks mixed personal anecdotes with reflections on his institutional contributions, including work on boards and commissions and leadership roles.

Jeremy Fasin then addressed the chamber. He described lessons learned during his tenure, emphasizing respect for the institution, bipartisanship, relationships with staff and members, and the privilege of service. "This has been the greatest honor of my life," he said, and he thanked colleagues and staff.

The House adopted the resolution and took a well photo with Fasin and his family. The day’s tributes underscored his relationships across the House and what colleagues described as a devotion to constituent service and faith‑based public life.

The resolution is ceremonial; it recognizes Fasin’s record and expresses thanks rather than directing an agency or changing law.
