The presenter said the Justice Center east lobby and security checkpoint reopened March 9; the conference room behind the boardroom "reopens April 8th" and the employee health clinic is scheduled to reopen on Monday, April 20. Work on the parking lot will proceed over about four weeks, staff said, with the final three days requiring temporary fence movement for paving; portions of the lot will remain open during most of the work and ADA access from the sheriff s office will be preserved. Staff also said bollards, pole bases and seven new light poles are being installed and sidewalks will be poured this week.
Environmental surveys were completed for phase-two and phase-three spaces, allowing abatement work to proceed as contractors are cleared to begin; staff said many asbestos-related costs came from materials (mastics under carpeting and pipe wraps) discovered only after demolition. A detailed punch-list walk-through for phase-one areas was scheduled for April 14 to identify outstanding items for correction.
Staff offered tours of phase-one areas for committee members and encouraged coordinations for either individual tours or a posted group tour; committee members were asked to coordinate times with staff.
